This past week, my dreams have been more vivid. I usually don’t recall dreams or even recall having dreams. Even ones creeping around at the alarm don’t seem to stick in mind. Last night, though, my head was a full movie house with back to back features. Strange boring features. More art house than block buster. I ran a lot in my dreams. It was my usual mode of transportation. I found myself in bathrooms where fathers made sure that sones were clean for the day. I ran through a neighborhood of unusual, almost cartoonish, homes. There was a path through a park that was adjacent a highway. I ended up in a house of rambunctious kids playing with silly string. A disgruntled father shouting petulantly, “You ruin everything!”
The strangest place in my dream was a public space full of other people. No one wore masks. They were all quite content. I Wass anxious as hell until I saw a friend, his wife and their son. All without a masks. Knowing him and his family, they would only be in public without masks unless the world was returning to some sense of normal. We just acknowledged each other and went our own ways.

Had a one-to-one with my manager today. He’s a decent guy that would rather be teching than managing. When I told him about how I was pursuing training in Linux and PowerShell, he expressed envy. I’ve been doing this study for two months now. I may still have more to go, too. What I want to do is get it done so that I can free up my personal time for things that just seem more exciting to me than teching.
A bout two months ago, I drafted plans for a work bench. This bench would have enough space on top for small to medium sized projects. Underneath, there would be shelf supplies. I designed it to modular so that the top could be swapped out for larger sheets of plywood. I’m ready to begin that work. Also recently, I’ve taken a shine to polymer clay sculpture. I want to draw again, too. I really want to do things with my hands. More non-linear thought and analog media. It will help to counter-balance the linear thought and digital media of my job.
Who knows, maybe I will get back into analog photography again, too.
