I drew a little today during a short staff meeting. The results were better than the night before.
Lately, I am focused on finishing up my RHEL 8 Sys Admin certification prep. I am so close to finishing the tutorials. Then I begin the practical exam practice. That’s right. The RHEL 8 certification exams are practical in format. I can’t just drill questions and answers. The exam is stage around task completion. I’ll have three hours to complete several tasks on a remote system. The reviewers will evaluate according to method and completeness of the work.
This is the kind of testing I like. Most exams about how well can a person evaluate which answer is most likely the correct one. Practical testing tests how well you utilize your knowledge. With something like the command line, there are often multiple ways to complete a task. As long as the result satisfies the task, your way is correct.
I feel like I have gained so much new knowledge with my recent training. Getting this certification rubber-stamps me as a person who not only has the knowledge, but understands how to use it. I expect to take another week or running through the practice test, reviewing weak spots and re-running the practice test. With any luck, I’ll be as prepared as possible for the actual practical exam.
