Twenty-four minutes from now Donald J. Trump will be re-installed as President of the United States. On this day, the third Monday of January, the United States celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr. Today the United States celebrates one of the worst people America has ever brought into the world and one of the best. My sadness today is that there will be arguments about which one is which.
To be clear to anyone who finds this page, Donald J. Trump is unfit to be a human let alone an America, let alone the President of the United States. I won’t go into further hyperbole. It’s a wast of energy and I want to spend as little time on him as possible. If I could create a field around me that filters him from my perception, I would. In place of that, I will just do all that I can to avoid thinking about this day. The day that America gave the great destructor a second chance to finish his work.
There are better things to do today that stew in my anger and sadness. So what will I do instead: Make things. I will make love if my partner also feels in the mood. I will complete a build cluttering up my work bench. I will build a thing in Minecraft. I will make time to train my dog a little. Before any of this, I will make breakfast. Because the hardworking can’t be done on an empty stomach.
