Taking the day off to tend to the cats. All three are heading to the vets for follow-ups and check-ups. Tao had an ear infection we treated almost three weeks back. So far, no signs of recurrence. Claude needed to be taken to an emergency clinic for excessive vomiting, lethargy, appetite loss. Turns out after treating those, we learned he had a heart murmur and possibly IBS. The original symptoms were probably triggered by a food allergy. Diet change seems to have taken care of that. Rose needs a followup blood pressure check.
I’ve basically decided that if work from home becomes the norm that it feels like it is becoming, then one cat will be enough. No, no. The trio above will live out a happy life, but all three are seniors. I adopted two cats (Tao and Claude) as kittens to be each other’s company while I worked. As kittens, they played and slept together. As adults, they tolerate each other. If there will be a pair in the future, they will be females. The single will be a male. That seems to be the magic balance.
I have a little grocery shopping to do today. We are doing a family cookie decorating Zoom gathering (That’s a mouthful) on Saturday. The cookies get made the day before. I’m hoping to squeeze some quiet time out of today in between all the shopping and vet visits.

More health discoveries for my cats. Tao is recovering from her ear infection just fine. I did fib about the antibiotics. She did not get the full course. Most, but not the full course. Doctor is running a couple follow-up tests to make sure that the critters are indeed dead.
Claude, is not doing quite so well. Dr concurred with the emergency vets. Claude most likely has IBD. He prescribed a special diet. I’m frustrated because it took me several brands of food to find something that didn’t make Claude puke. Now I have to switch him over to a different food. One that his sister neither needs or should have. This means new eating routines.
On the upside, I had some downtime today. We’re getting a new fridge to replace the one that freezes up on a summer day. And had some great sex while getting showered. All-in-all, this day ends on an upbeat. I feel relaxed, but not quite rested. I do need to get my rest.
