Writing this feels awkward. I’m not sure what to write. I don’t have resolutions to list out. The world today is pretty much the same as it was yesterday.
Relief. That’s what I feel. 2020 was a horrible year for everyone in general. Even the people feeding off the chaos of the year had a horrible year. They just haven’t realized it yet. It is something, I think, will come back to them in the fullness of time.
My 2020 was remarkably okay. Diane and I didn’t lose our jobs. Working from home has been easy to adjust to. Diane and I love each other and helpthe other get through when the the grim state of things pressed down. Together we kept this house afloat and hope burning in the dark.
If anything got to me it was the rage. It simmered in me since Trump took office, but 2020 magnified that. All of the ineptness came to a head when faced with the greatest single crisis this country faced since WWII or the 1918 Spanish Flu Epidemic. These turkeys couldn’t organize a prison break from inside a wet paper bag. All they needed to do was ask the experts, reliable and trusted experts, what to do, what they needed from administration to accomplish that, and step out of the way when it was time to get things done.
What I am proud of from last year is:
- I completed my EDC Backpack
- Tackled Linux certifications and PowerShell education
- Gamed with friends once a month (about) for much of the year
- Didn’t gain weight
- Had a good 30-day posting streak here
- Began rekindling my relationship to art and making
So what’s ahead for this year?
- Build out organize my crafting space
- Tackle sculpting, painting, and modeling.
- Rebuild my drawing skills
- Rebuild my photography skills
- Find a job that takes me another step from customer support
- Keep gaming with friends
- Tend the home fires with Diane
It looks like a lot, but much of it dovetails together. I look forward to the growth and discovery, and sharing that process with you.
