Going where?

I almost forgot my morning update. Will the suffice? It will have to. I’m clocked in on the job now.

10:30 PM

Started playing with the features of this WordPress theme (Argent, for the curious) and thinking more about the content. Eventually, these daily status checks will go to the back pages. They have always been about establishing rhythm. I’ve always been bad about posting. From 12/2/2020 to today is my longest posting stretch. Ultimately, this isn’t what I want to share through this site.

What I want to do is share my progress as an artist. In many ways, I am going back to square one. My MFA degree really means very little. Any mastery I had in photography, drawing, book making, etc has long since been lost. So my goal for the future of the site is to show my progress as developing artist/maker.

Which media? First thought is none and many. I don’t want to pigeon hole my interests. I’d rather let a product lead me to learn new methods and media as I go. For starters, I have a very large Ecto-1 model by Eagle Moss to build. I will learn weathering painting techniques with it. That’s long term as the model is shipped in sets of pieces as a subscription over several years. Recently, I have acquired an interest in polymer clay sculpting. Pin-ups maybe. I have some ideas for holiday character sets and dioramas. Then there is the workspaces that I want to put together just to do much of this work. You see, I have lots to do. And I want to use this site to share that.

Along the way, I will get around to polishing the look and feel of the site itself.
